Spring of 1996 Update

Brief Biography of the Missionaries:

We are from Napa CA where we pastored for 6 years at Hillside Christian Center. My wife, Belva, was the principal of Vacaville Christian Academy in Vacaville, CA, an ACSI school of about 1050 students. We were quite happy in what we were doing there in California but, one never knows the exciting things God has in store for our lives.

We spent 10 years founding and pastoring the Northmead Assembly of God in Zambia's capital city of Lusaka. We began on the streets in the 70's and left it in the 80's leaving a congregation of about 1200 with an urban, predominently African congregation. Our work then was mainly with university students. We were back to Zambia at Christmas (our son Stephen, age 30, and daughter Michelle, age 27, joined us to go back to the home of their upbringing). What at thrill it was! We groomed a Zambian pastor who is doing a great job with the church now numbering around 4000 on any given Sunday morning. We preached there and at the new branch church in the hotel, going about 1 year and now numbering about 800. The young people we discipled then are now in positions of leadership in that country. We were privileged to share the platform with the President (Chiluba) who is a spirit-filled man and as well were hosted to a state dinner on New Year's eve by Vice-President Brig General Miyanda. He is the keyboardist at the branch church now. God is doing great things in Zambia.
