Biographical Information:
The Voice of Hope was founded on the battlefields of Lebanon in 1979 as a Christian voice of hope and encouragement in a war ravaged country. George Otis, founder of the ministry, is CEO today with John Tayloe as President. George has written an exciting book about the formation of the radio station which is offered free to interested persons. From these humble beginnings the VOH has grown to become a worldwide shortwave radio network broadcasting from Lebanon, California, and the Palau islands in Micronesia.Long Range Goals:
We seek to increase the hours per week of broadcast time and to establish new stations in strategic geographical areas to broadcast the gospel into all the earth in the most optimum way humanly possible. Radio is a media that goes across closed borders and into the privacy of the homes of thirsty souls. There are numerous projects on our drawing board that are not feasible until funding is available.Current Efforts:
Currently we need funding to increase on air time on our existing transmitters. We want to operate our California transmitter to reach Brazil with Portuguese language broadcasts during the night hours locally (morning there) but needs funds for operators and electricity. Also, we have a major project on hold in Palau. We are preparing, as funding becomes available, to erect new antennas enabling us to reach Indonesia, Australia, and India. Along with the antenna work, transmitter improvements are required.Current Inspirational Events:
We have received many exiting testimonies in recent days of the life changing power of the gospel. We continue to receive a steady stream of responses from Cuba, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South America from our California station. Our Lebanon station continues to receive reports of the blessing of God from the surrounding Middle Eastern nations, Russia, Europe, and Africa. Our Palau station is receiving good news from China and the surrounding nations in Asia.Prayer Requests and Needs:
The Voice of Hope is at a crossroads point and needs the prayers of Christians everywhere for success in harvesting souls into the kingdom of God. There are numerous opportunities and accompanying decisions which must be made for which prayer is needed. Finances are required to continue and to enlarge the scope of our world outreach. Regular monthly gifts of support are the Òbread and butterÓ of our ministry and are always warmly received. Newsletters will be mailed to those contributing or interested in contributing to our missionary outreach. Individual project information is available for those interested in giving toward accomplishment of a project to reach a specific country or region of the world.
