The year of 1995 was High Adventure's finest ever. More radio listeners from around the world were healed and born again and the flow of testimonies reached an all-time high. To God be the glory!
Just a few days ago, there was a very special celebration in the Holy Land which you made possible. We gave a party to encourage Lebanese children who were orphaned during their long string of wars. Some of these precious young people have lost legs, arms or sight. Through your generosity, High Adventure air shipped 600 gifts and also gave out 600 Arabic Bibles at the party for these kids. People are still talking about it. Thank you.
It was likewise gratifying that in 1995 the world broadcasters voted High Adventure as radio ministry of the year. All glory to our Lord! This remarkable year also saw the power over our China station nearly doubled and our new station serving the nations of Japan and Korea finished up and put on the air. Good letters from this part of your Voice of Hope congregation are now coming in. But even so, the Holy Spirit is drawing our hearts to a troubled Holy Land this new year.
The Bible promises us that each of us will be blessed as we bless the Jewish nation and her people. God requires us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and promises to prosper us when we do (Ps. 122:6). Israel is now in great turmoil and deeply divided over the late Prime Minister's "land give-away" in Judea and Samaria in return for a shaky peace. Today, when you walk through the streets of Jerusalem, your heart is broken over the evidences of the approach of Armageddon.
Prime Minister Rabin was a long-time friend who helped High Adventure launch our first Gospel stations, but giving away land God covenanted to Israel violates the Word and has inspired turmoil among the Muslims. Listen to what some of the leaders of Islam are saying:
"We will explode Israel's blood and increase our suicide attacks. We will set the ground on fire underneath the feet of the criminal Zionists. Every Jew on the face of the earth will be a target to our amazing blasts and our bodies exploding in anger."
Recently Arafat addressed a large crowd of Palestinians from the pulpit of The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. (only a few miles from Jerusalem) Arafat shouted out the names of the towns which Israel had given back. He gloated how he had "liberated" them from the Jews. Then Yasser sent chills up our spine when he cried out, "Our next step is Jerusalem, which is our rightful capitol!" That's Armageddon-talk.
Pat Robertson in his excellent new book The End of The Age suggests that the Bible's Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse may already have run through the earth in our own present century. This would signify that pre-Armageddon prophecies are already underway. It is true that millions of people have already died in this century from terrible famines and plagues such as AIDS, Measles, Tuberculosis and Cancer. The earlier horrendous plagues in Europe and Africa also took a huge toll of lives.
World Wars I and II, The Vietnam and Korean Wars show how the Bible's Four Horsemen may have already seen the death of hundreds of millions here in the twentieth century. Thus, we see that the fuse is lit to ignite the final turbulence around Jerusalem. But praise God, triumph will follow this turbulence. Immediately after Armageddon, Christ will take His throne on Mount Zion and will rule the earth with justice, joy, peace and love for 1000 spectacular years.
But you and I have our work cut out for us in the short time remaining. We are to be Christ's hands in the hours and days before us, especially with respect to ' Jerusalem. God says of these fast-moving days ahead, "Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, get ye down, for the press is full. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision for the day of the Lord is near." Praise the name of Jesus! High Adventure's harvesting of the lost must now speed up.
With serious new threats from Israel's neighbors on every side, there has never been such an opportune hour for us to help the Jews to hear from their Messiah, Jesus. Now, they are filled with apprehension and confusion and must hear from the Prince of Peace.
We must powerfully program our Voice of Hope stations to bring them that hope. Healings through the broadcasts will clearly accentuate the fresh presence of God in the Holy City and draw them into salvation through the Savior. But, we are not able to commence this urgent campaign over Jerusalem without your help.
We can make a powerful difference for our Lord. A remarkable phenomenon is taking place over in Israel. When we first went on the air with the Voice of Hope, we could find less than 100 Jews in Israel who had received Christ as their Messiah. But, we recently attended a meeting in Jerusalem, where 3,600 born again Jews were worshipping the Lord. You and I have an unprecedented call from God and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity from the Lord to evangelize the Holy City in this pivotal moment.
Last year, you and I victoriously worked together to focus over the Voice of Hope, powerful spiritual warfare against Castro's stronghold on the precious Cuban nation. Everyone rejoiced to witness a mighty revival spring forth across Cuba. God's Word never returns void. The revival is still growing.
Likewise, you and I prayed and we gave to launch our most intense ministry into Rwanda's nightmare of death, torture and child brutalization. Satan was stunned by hearing God's Word over the Voice of Hope. The devil's savagery was bound and marvelous victory emerged. The mass killings stopped and evangelism has taken root.
Now, we must undertake the most intense spiritual warfare in behalf of the golden city of Jerusalem. The nations 'round about her are closing in and we must fight for her and win for our Messiah, Jesus Christ.
The late Frances Shaeffer would ask God when a golden opportunity like this opened up to do a special task for the Lord. He would ask God, "WHAT SHALL WE THEN DO?" This present chance to please God's heart by bringing in the harvest over in Israel and to fight for Jerusalem could be the greatest single opportunity in all history. The Voice of Hope may have been raised up for just such a day as this.
The Lord speaks of spiritual rewards for those who answer His crisis calls. Blessings were showered on King David because he leaped at chances to do something for God. Listen to what the prophet Isaiah said, "You will feed on the wealth of the nations, and in their riches you will boast. He also said, "Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth of on the seas will be brought to you and to you the riches of the nations will come." God truly wants to bless our prayers and our sacrifices for Him.
This battle for Jerusalem can only be won through God's very special children like yourself. The Lord knows how High Adventure can't do this without you. Let's take a quick look at God's battle plan. We will use three of our biggest Holy Land stations which now face Jerusalem. We will also use two powerful shortwave stations, plus our big 50,000 watt AM station.
They will rocket God's Word, the call for salvation to the Jews and do spiritual warfare intothe heavens above Jerusalem night and day.
The spirit of antichrist cannot withstand this. Since this war strategy entails 450 extra broadcast hours per month. We'll need extra staff, broadcasting parts and electrical power. This will succeed or fail depending on each of our own personal involvement. If you could send $500 or a little more this month, together we will see an historic victory over in the Holy Land. Thank you for your wonderful help to prepare the way for Jesus' soon return.
