Dear Pastor John,
"And there shall be wars and rumors of wars...
The clean up and mourning of more than 100 Israelis killed in Jerusalem by the Hizbullah terrorists had barely finished when all out war exploded in Northern Israel and Lebanon.
I rushed to the Los Angeles airport and made a beeline for our Voice of Hope in the Holyland. Heavy rockets, fighter bombers, mortars, tanks, gunships and 175 MM cannons roared in the bright spring skies. Israelis huddled in their bomb shelters as buildings fell and burned from the deadly Hizbullah rockets. More than 500,000 Israelis and Lebanese have had to flee from their homes.
You will remember that 57 rockets launched by Iraq struck Israel during the Gulf War. But, within these recent days over 600 rockets were fired into Israel by the Muslim fanatics. This was like an Armageddon warmup and our stations in the middle of it are only 40 miles from the very place where that last cataclysmic battle will take place.
Gary Hull and I called together our entire Holyland staff even while keeping our stations on the air. One of the most moving prayer sessions broke out over the next two hours. Praises to God, thanksgiving and intercession. Then intense spiritual warfare arose like a great spiritual fountain. You would have been moved and proud of your brave ministry team.
While in prayer, we could hear the war all around us. The clatter of attack helicopters, the whine of jet bombers, the incessant booming of the 175 MM cannon and the loud drum bangs of the exploding Hizbullah rockets. Please keep our people in your prayers.
The stations were twice knocked off the air by enemy rocket fire but never for longer than six hours. During this war we have been broadcasting Jesus' love and His Word 24 hours, night and day. The soldiers on both sides have to be feeling great fear through the nights. We did this same non-stop ministry during the Gulf War. Many a warrior was won to Christ in that one.
Suddenly, a righteous anger flared as I saw and heard more about this terrible war outside our studio. This war had started up when the terrorists killed those 100 innocent women, children and elderly in Jerusalem. This was followed by a sudden and unprovoked rain of rockets in northern Israel where the Voice of Hope stations are located.
Anger welled up that this cruel war had been launched not by man, but by satan himself. It is he who manipulates men through false religions to "rob, to kill and to destroy."
Gary Hull and I rushed into our broadcasting studio and I announced to all who were listening that I had a special message for the Hizbullah terrorists and other Muslim extremists. This was a risky thing to do. Something never before done by anyone speaking directly to them. We felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to speak out God's truth in the midst of their bloody attacks. It is a powerful message.

This letter which I am writing to you from the Holyland, chronicles the struggle between the Lord and satan who knows that he is now nearing the end of his hold on men and nations. The glorious news is that very soon our God will reign from His throne on Mt. Zion. Our side wins! But, meanwhile, our High Adventure Voice of Hope funds have been utterly drained by this unexpected war. Our opportunities to harvest thousands of souls for the Kingdom is at an all time high and we must take full advantage of this chance to bless the lives of hundreds of thousands of frightened people in the Middle Bast. We have twice had our power shot out by enemy rockets and it is costly to repair.
