LISBON, PORTUGAL THE LAST EUROPEAN PORT

Well before you know the great thing s the lord did in Lisbon I want you to know I am amazed. Some know this already but in the beginning I didn't want to come here to this ship but god kept shutting the doors on my other options so I went a long and all things worked out way he wanted for me to be here

What can I say this last year was like? This last year has been a huge mix of emotion especially ones that broke me down in the beginning but now have changed me into who I am someone who soly wants to serve and who is still changing now. I have enjoyed this year more than any other in my life because I have realized that the best place on earth is not a location or a desired destination it right now where ever you are if you are serving god in his will and that that place can be more joyful than another place when it is your own plan.

I want everyone to really thinks about these things cause they are life changing they have changed my life. After all if we are truly "Christians" then we will serve god and follow Jesus so seek what God wants and not what you do.

I really know that this is my ministry for this next year and I am really going to kick things into high gear this next year I am praying for many more divine appointments. I have also made some changes such as in Barbados I will try to speak in church every Sunday to encourage the believers as well for the non believers. I will be hanging out with the young people like my self to let them know that there is more to life than stuff. All things will fade away except of the love of Christ which is eternal.

One thing that we get asked by people is what we will be doing after the ship and that is a good question I don't know but I fell like the lord is calling me too stay a little longer especially since there is a possibility for the ship with its ministry to go to my home in April 2003 these are all far away plans I know but I ask for all who ready this to begin praying.

THANK YOU ALL WHO HAVE PARTNERED OR WILL WITH ME

You are all amazing for the love that you show through prayer and intersession and for all those who have given to me for my finances I am glad that you are willing to be used by the lord money is given by god and when you use what he has provided for the work of god you all will be blessed and you all bless me as well.

Well that is it for all my talking I'm sure you had enough here are some stories for Portugal enjoy

God continues to present many ministry opportunities and "divine appointments" for the ship's crewmembers.

The evangelism teams once again partnered with Teen Challenge going out to the lot where drugs were sold and used, as they distributed food and coffee. The Teen Challenge staff requested urgent prayer for one man who lives on the lot, slowly dying as he uses drugs and doesn't eat. TC has been trying to move him out, but this man is too ashamed to receive help. Keep him in your prayers as God works in his life through the TC staff. Dawn (USA) said the evangelism teams were "an encouragement to the Teen Challenge workers," with each LOGOS II team member realizing their perspectives had been changed by what they saw and experienced in Lisbon.

The e-teams held a youth meeting in Sintra, Portugal, that was not only attended by young people, but their parents also, so involving most of the church's congregation. Gwen (Belgium) said "there was such an enthusiasm in the church that evening," as the team performed "The Gift" drama, gave the gospel and a response, and Wendy (Canada) sang. After the drama, Terese (Uruguay) explained that the gift we have in Christ is not one we keep for ourselves-it is to be shared with everyone, so all may have a chance to receive it. Gwen noticed a close-knit fellowship in this church, as they were all encouraged by the team's visit.

A sports ministry team from the ship went out to play football in Lisbon. During the game against Brazilians, the wife of one the LOGOS II players, Eloa (Brazil), spoke with a Brazilian player's wife. She told the woman about the LOGOS II, and the woman declared the next time the ship came to Lisbon, her English would be improved so she could talk with the all the crewmembers! Eloa called this encounter a "natural conversation where we talked with each other about life, since we had so much in common." She shared the gospel with her, knowing that a seed had been planted.

Tour volunteers in Lisbon were much appreciated at a thank-you party, where many said they were sad the ship was leaving so soon; in their opinion, the one-month stay was too short! One tour guide said she gave a tour to a family whose father was an atheist and mother Catholic. The father mentioned that he had Christian friends, but conversation about God is off-limits with him. The tour guide said if they would never see each other again, she wanted to take the opportunity to share Jesus with him, which he allowed and listened, and she shared her testimony with the family.

At the ship volunteer's party, friends and family arrived to celebrate their time serving on the ship. One volunteer told Miriam (Switzerland), volunteer co-coordinator, how much the ship had impacted his life. It was only in God's perfect timing that He brought him to serve, knowing any other time would not have worked. He wants to join the ship due to his experience on board! The ship enjoyed 25 volunteers in total for the port of Lisbon.
