Biographical Information:
Graduates of Southern California College, Costa Mesa, CA
Pastored from 1967-1980 in Southern California, three churches
Came to Mexico in 1981 because of the need observed on the Baja Penninsula.
Long Range Goals:
To see every major town in Baja California Sur have an evangelical church. To assist in the training and preparation of pastors, Christian leaders and workers, and the spiritual maturing of all believers. To reach groiups, (ethnic, age or social), which are not presently being ministered to by the Christian church in the area.
Current Effort(s):
We have assisted in the purchase of property and/or construction of church facilities in eight Baja cities/towns and are presently raising funds for the purchase of church property in the city of Santa Rosalia. We are available for continuing ministry in the existing churches which may include preaching, video presentations, workers training,seminars, children's crusades, other forms of evangelism and assistance. We participate in the regional Bible Institute as teachers.
Our primary "job description" is "church planting" which implies going into an area without a churchand working there until one is established and complete with land, building, pastor and congregation so that it may function on its own and reproduce itself.
Current Inspirational Event(s):
We just concluded a week of outreach in Cabo San Lucas ministering to scores of children each morning with the assistance of the local congregation of the San Lucas Assembly of God and a tiam of workers from Bellingham, WA, and nightly had large crowds of teens and adults viewing Christian videos projected on a giant screen. The results were many conversions to Christ, new people tied linto the local church and much "seed" planted by witness and Gospel literature distributed.
Prayer Requests and Needs:
One constant request is for national pastors to care for the new believers as new congregations are formed though evangeslism. Funds to purchase church property are a continual need. It is essential for the new church to have its own land in order to survive in the situations here in Mexico. Because of tourism in Baja, land is very expensive and virtually beyond the reach of national churches. We are still praying for a divine move of God that will go beyond all our efforts to bring the message of salvation to Baja.
