CHRISTMAS GREETINGS FROM MEXICO

The La Paz church has moved from the TENT to the BUILDING. Hundreds of you have helped make this move possible.

May we share a few glimpses into the lives of those you have touched by your prayers and gifts? These new Christians are taking leadership in the church.

'Five services a week, Angelita and Maria Elena form part of the worship team. Each has a song in her heart inspired by the Lord's mercy.

Maria Elena lived in a state of depression depending on prescription drugs to help her cope with an alcoholic husband until the Lord became her peace and His joy gives strength to her life. She and her children faithfully serve the Lord as they pray for the salvation and deliverance of her husband.

In answer to prayer, Angelita's estranged husband was reunited with the family. Now he and their girls are part of the congregation. When she was saved, Angelita was also healed of lupus. Her authentic testimony has influenced many.

Social drinking was taking a strong grip on Lucero's personal life. Her upper-middle-class lifestyle was not bringing satisfaction. Since she has come to know the Lord, His joy has given her a vibrancy and helped her sustain the challenges of her home life. She is a Missionette leader and a childrens teacher, growing together in the Lord with the kids as she teaches His Word.

Instead of sleeping on a church bench with her head on the Bible, where might have been four-year-old Karen if the message of salvation had not touched her parents?

Karen's father, Ramon, had just been released from a drug rehabilitation program when he and his wife started attending the tent. The Lord is giving stability to their lives. Ramon is now assisting with the administrative responsibilities of this new church.

Though we cannot, yet we would like to take you individually through the congregation to meet each new believer transformed by the power of God and now serving in His work--- like Rosendo, the head usher, radically delivered from alcoholism.

Esteban, a secondary school teacher, is director of the church's department of Christian Education with which we have worked this year, particularly in training new staff to operate their own program.

These men and women are a few of the leaders God has raised up in this new La Paz congregation. They have been saved and trained in the facilities you have made possible: the land you helped purchase, the tent provided, the sanctuary built by MAPS teams and classroom unit (already needing to be enlarged). The congregation is now working toward finishing the church building.

Pray for the continual spiritual growth of these new Christians and the congregation they serve. Also, at this time various women in the group are suffering abuse from their unconverted husbands. Pray for the salvation of these men.

We thank you for your support and concern in 1994. You have made possible the construction of three church buildings this year. Children have been reached through evangelistic outreach. Individuals have come to know the Lord because you prayed and gave. We are eternally grateful. Thank you.

May your involvement in Christ's Everlasting Kingdom bring JOY to your CHRISTMAS and PURPOSE to your NEW YEAR. We wish you God's best. We appreciate you!

Love,

The Ed McCallie Family Baja California Sur, Mexico
