Long Range Goals:

Fully established indigenous churches in all the political entities in the Pacific: Guam, Marianas, Republic of Palau, Federated States of Micronesia (Chuuk Kosrae, Pohnpei, Yap), Marshall Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Tonga, Wallis & Futuna Islands, Cook Islands, Western Samoa, American Samoa, Tuvalu, Niue, Tokelau and Tahiti (French Polynesia).

The national churches should become self-propagating self-supporting, and self-governing. Virtually all are self-governing. Most are self-supporting, and more are becoming self-propagating as well as a few have developed their own missions programs.

Another goal is to help the 15 Bible schools and colleges grow and improve to reach their goals of training men and women for the ministry. Only on is now a 4-year college. Five more will probably reach that level in the next 5-10 years. Media in the Pacific is another goal. Presently, locally-produced radio programs are broadcast in 9 nations with TV programming in 2 or 3. Our goal is to have locally produced programming in all the major islands nations and TV where feasible as well as non-broadcast TV/video for evangelism and training. Reaching the children and youth of the Pacific is an important goal as many of the island populations are 50% or more children and youth. Means to reach this goal would be through child and youth evangelism, media, and rehabilitation for troubled youth.

Seeing God break through spiritual darkness in the Pacific is a vital goal. Places such as Chuuk, Pohnpei, KIRIBATI, Yap, Kosrae, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu have been strongholds of animism and the occult. The Hindus and Muslims of Fiji are evangelism goals.

Personal Long Range Goals:

To develop leadership training materials and programs to enhance in developing island pastors, teachers, and leaders in the Pacific to further develop human resources and development for both missionaries and local church leaders to equip them to face the 21st Century.

Current Efforts:

As Area Director, Wayne oversees the missionary endeavors of the DFM personnel through on-site visits to assist in coordinating mission efforts and policy with emerging national church plans and programs for the total evangelism and planting of a New Testament type church in each locale. He encourages missionary and national alike by ministry and communication liaising with DFM plans and projections. The survey of new and unreached areas comes under his role to ascertain if it is feasible to open up new areas to missionary endeavor by either DFM or other personnel. Another role is to communicate DFM policy and strategy to field missionaries, the home constituency and national church organizations. Also, fund-raising and prayer support is a vital role to keep before the Christian constituency the current prayer needs for spiritual breakthrough and victory in the Pacific.

Judy serves as Bible school, ICI, and church ministries coordinator to the Bible schools, national churches and missionaries. She is a Bible school curriculum consultant as well as a consultant on various church ministries aspects of the local and national churches. Weekend preaching, Bible school ministry, block on-site seminars are also a part of our ministry.

An AIDS awareness comic is in process for outreach in the Pacific. Use of child evangelism tools such a puppets, flannelgraph is being promoted. A Youth rehab center/church is being built in Palau. A health clinic/church/school is being build in a remote of Vanuatu.
