Thank you for uplifting us in your prayers and your faithful support. Rejoice with us in God's blessings over the past several months. In June we participated in the Pacific Missionary Conference held in Fiji. The retreat was designed for spiritual, physical and relational renewal for our Pacific missionary families. We attended the Area Director meeting and School of Missions in Springfield, Missouri where we assisted in orientation for 7 missionaries joining the Pacific team.
We took part in the funeral services of Lloyd Cagle, my model and mentor in ministry. He died July 25. August 4 we celebrated the marriage of our daughter, Catherine, to Douglas Kirk, a wonderful Christian attorney and Elder at Newport-Mesa Christian Center, Costa Mesa, California. Our whole family took part as we joyously welcomed a son into the family.
The end of August we made two on-site visits: Pohnpei and the Marshall Islands in the Central Pacific. Marshall Islands School of Theology has a record enrollment of 43 students this fall. It was a joy to meet with students, faculty and staff and have ministry in local churches. Pastor Kisso Langheran is progressing in the building program of Rita Assembly, Majuro. The original church was destroyed by fire. Micronesia Bible College, Guam, has begun a new semester with students from Pohnpei, Chuuk, Palau and Guam. Thank God for these mature men who are preparing for full-time service in Micronesia.
These are challenging, changing times, exciting times to be alive and about the Harvest Master's work. Pray for wisdom and courage for the many national leaders and pastors who are facing growing challenges in their ministries. Someone said, "Leadership is influence!" Pray that our influence will be Godly and mature so that our churches and people will have the benefit of leaders who inspire and motivate.
Your missionaries in the Pacific,
Wayne and Judy Cagle
