Our emphasis and reason for existence is based out of Acts 1:8; "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." We shall be witnesses! Because of this our influence has reached past the Ukrainian borders into Russia, Belarussia, Uzbeckistan, Siberia, the Russian Far East and China. In doing so we carry out our Pentecostal heritage of "Turning the world upside down" Acts 17:6. This dream has now become a reality.
Our mailer included a letter, response application form and a personal testimony tract of Peter Mehl. The principle goal was to locate at least one person from each village who would start a home church. The secondary objective was to locate people who would network with us to start new churches. Finally, through our tract insert we expected thousands to repent and accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Thousands have indeed responded to the salvation message already as a result of the mailouts and for this we give God all the glory. All have received follow up materials, hundreds have enrolled in our Correspondence Bible School and many have already started home churches. (See CBS)
Although the initial phase is complete we still maintain staff who respond to letters that continually come from all over Ukraine.
Church Planting Kits: One area of great need in existing and start up churches alike is quality Christian written, video and audio teaching materials. Good evangelistic tracts are almost non-existent as well.
Therefore, we packaged what we call our "church planting kit". It includes enough materials to meet the needs of a start up church (cell church of up to 15 people). This includes foundational teaching books, Bibles, New Testaments, evangelistic tracts, and audio teachings. Six-hundred complete kits have been distributed, not to mention the one million plus books listed below under materials distribution.
So far over (600) church planting kits have beeb distributed and four hundred are being packaged in preparation for distribution.
Correspondence Bible School (CBS): In February of 1994, we began our Correspondence Bible School in an effort to meet the needs of those who did not have access to a Bible School. We believe solid biblical training emphasizing an evangelistic zeal and full gospel message would facilitate the raising up of people to start new works. Currently, over 3,500 people have enrolled in the School. We expect to surpass the 5,000 mark by the end of 1996.
Conferences: Our goal is to build leaders through sound leadership training and challenge all participants to be a part of fulfilling "The Great Commission." We arm all attendees with materials such as Christian books, evangelistic tracts, video and audio teachings, New Testaments, Bibles, etc. The challenge has always been to plant new home churches and especially in villages, which arethe most unreached areas. Testimonies of new churches planted, salvation's, healings, etc., are common occurrences. Hundreds of villages are being reached with the gospel message!!!
Our conferences are by invitation only and have grown from (49) in attendance at our first one in March of 1994 to over (600) two years later.
Crusades: We continue to conduct evangelistic crusades in conjunction with strategically scheduled conferences. In November of 1995 we conducted five crusades and one conference. In March of “96” crusades were held in four cities plus our national conference that had over 600 leaders in attendance. Since this time we have held three city-wide crusades and again piggy-backed them onto our leadership training conferences. We plan to continue with as many crusades as possible using our Russian staff. We are letting our young evangelists take a more active role in our meetings.
Materials distribution: Our initial goal, which began early 1994, was to facilitate the delivery of 1,000,000 Christian books into Ukraine. We met this goal in mid 1995. We utilized authors anointed of God and who are called to deliver the New Testament apostolic message. Subject titles distributed were; Authority of the believer, Freedom from fear, The Holy Spirit, Tongues are for today, In Him, Welcome to the family, healing, God’s will for you, Prayer, Gifts of the Holy Spirit and many more. Over 5,000 Bibles and 100,000 New Testaments were also distributed. We are now working on delivery of our second million. We also published our own evangelistic tracts in five titles. To date over 3.5 million tracts have been printed and distributed.
Operation Train Robbery: This is a ministry located in Djonkoe, Crimea region of Ukraine. This location was picked because millions of people pass through this train station each year on their way to Crimea for rest, relaxation or business. Another way to put it is, "millions of people destined for eternal hell pass through our Holy Ghost check point yearly and we hold up the devil, stealing his captives, putting them on a fast train to heaven!"
We are on target to distribute 3,000,000 evangelistic tracts/booklets througgh (OTR) in our first year. People from all the 15 republics of the former USSR will be reached with a gospel message and this includes tens of thousands of Muslims.
Bible Schools: We have a desire to train up people so they in turn can train up others. 2 Timothy 2:2 says; "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also." We are currently helping national pastors raise up in-church Bible schools. Several are planned to start by the end of 1996.
Video and Audio Ministries: We have produced a set of teaching aids in video and audio form. The video series is just short of 50 hours and the audio, 65 hours. We provide these free for our churches and prison ministries. We have provided over 380 complete sets of video's and over 11,000 audio teaching tapes to churches or prisons in Ukraine plus Siberia and the Russian Far East.
Prison Ministries: Currently we have four people who bring our materials into prisons with a goal of establishing works in every Ukrainian prison by mid-1997. That’s 160 major prisons and each being provided with enough evangelistic tracts to reach every prisoner and written materials to fully equip a group of 50 believers with a New Testament and eight Christian faith” foundational books, plus 50 hours of our video teachings and 65 hours of audio. During our last conference one Russian prison evangelist reported, Everywhere I go prisoners are watching your video teachings believers or not.
Ministry functions outside of Ukraine: During the last three years we have invested in souls outside of Ukraine as well. This is in keeping with Acts 1:8. We supplied our Siberian contacts with 125,000 Christian books plus video and audio teaching sets for 30 churches and their Bible School. Several churches have already been planted utilizing our materials along with an in-church Bible school on the Kamchatka peninsula.
Our materials have also reached into several Russian cities and other former republics including Belarussia, Uzbeckistan and Latvia. One pastor was recently sent as a missionary from Ukraine to Russia's far north. Russian Far East & China: We have also sent materials into China, enough to fully supply 300 Chinese home churches with Bibles and foundational books. We are in the process of establishing a network that will effectively deliver hundreds of thousands and potentially millions of Bibles into China!
For each Bible that gets into the hands of a Chinese believer inside of China, between five and seven people will come to know the Lord. This is a known statistic. Souls are the driving force in our quest to fulfill the Great Commission. Our phase one goal is to facilitate the delivery of 170,000 Bibles into China that is one-million more souls into the kingdom!
China is ripe and is in need of harvest now. Because of our past endeavors in the former USSR, PJMMI has developed a network of Russian contacts. Several have teamed up with us to raise up the Russian Christians to do their part in fulfilling the Great Commission”. Yes this is a pioneer work but it is God directed.
Our strength is in our willingness to network with others for the sake of the kingdom. However, we still need you to help fuel our efforts with prayer and finances. Please, prayerfully consider joining with us as we go to areas where no other man has laid foundations this is truly pioneer work!
