Tucked away in a corner of our compound at the Ninh Binh Orphanage in Vietnam is an area where 15 handicapped people live and work. Their living quarters consist of one small room for each. They share a larger room where their embroidery work is done. The more severely handicapped do embroidery in their rooms.
We learned that these people work 12 hours aday, 6 days a week, receiving only $6 a month for their labors. Thus when the director asked the Assemblies of God to help these people with some money for food each month, the answer came quickly and positively.
The handicapped people knew that the Assemblies of God had been asked, but they expected that it would take months to get a reply. How excited they were to find out so quickly that the Assemblies of God would give $9 to each person for food! In fact, they were so ecstatic that their income had more than doubled so quickly, they stayed up all night talking about it.
What a privilege it is to share the love of God with the people of Vietnam and especially the 200 children we are now caring for in our four children's homes there!
