Sequence of Events in Crusade

Preceding the Service - TICKETS WILL BE HANDED OUT to children between the ages of 3-14. These tickets are used as an incentive to respect God, His House and the persons in charge of the service. RULES are explained each service. If the rules are followed, the children will retain their individual tickets. If a child breaks the rules, his ticket will be taken away by an adult and he will not get it back. If the ticket number is called, the adult holding the ticket will receive the prize. Ticket numbers will be called for the "Catcher" and for Sally & Sam (our famous frogs) for small prizes following the altar service.

Opening - We ask the pastor or person in charge to open the service with prayer, introduce themselves as Pastor, etc. in order to identify themselves with the church to visitors and then immediately turn the service over to us. (The service lasts approximately 2 hours, depending on the altar service.)

Rules Explained -

THE RULES ARE:

NO TALKING, WHISPERING OR CAUSING A DISTURBANCE
NO WALKING AROUND OR CHANGING SEATS
YOU MAY GO TO THE RESTROOM, BUT TICKET WILL BE TAKEN (Children are requested to go to restroom before service starts. Most children should not have to go again. If there is a medical problem, exceptions will be made.)

Singing - We usually lead two choruses which pertain to the theme of the crusade.

Draw Tickets - At this time we draw a proportionate number of tickets of those who are on time. This is to encourage promptness in arrival at services. Those whose tickets are chosen will be able to "play a game" at the end of the service to win a small prize. This is done by throwing a ball to a "catcher."

Scripture Woman - Scripture Woman's purpose is to encourage the memorization of Scripture. Each year we present verses that are compatible with our theme. Rules for memorization are that the verse(s) must be memorized before reaching the Crusade. If they are studied after entering, it will not be recognized for that night. It may be said for credit on the next night. Each night at the end of the service, a small prize will be awarded to each individual who has quoted their verse(s) to Sister Martha or Sister Jan.

Sally & Sam Offering Contest - Each service an offering will be taken. We have found it helpful to the church to do this in the form of a contest. The contest this year is between Sally & Sam and their captains. Usually the pastor & spouse are the captains. The captain of the losing side will be fed from a baby bottle after the winner puts a baby bib and baby bonnet on them. Needless to say, the congregation really responds to this!

Puppet's - Our puppets are puppets with a purpose. The stories, etc.; that are done with puppets all have a message. We use many types of puppets in our ministry (full body, human arm, marionette; hand; half body, as will as other types). This year we do a puppet musical "The True Story of Humpty Dumpty."

Lesson - Most of our lessons are done under blacklight. This year they are "THE HOLY SPIRIT, WHO HE IS AND WHAT HE CAN DO IN YOUR LIFE" The lessons are as applicable for adults as they are for children. We actually "preach" the lessons.

Altar Service WE CONSIDER THIS THE MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENT OF THE ENTIRE SERVICE. Everything we do is to attempt to bring every individual to a time of meeting God at the altar. We expect boys & girls, men & women to be saved, healed, baptized in the Holy Ghost and brought into a meaningful experience with God at every service. This is the reason for the crusade.
